Cooking Classes Slow Food
“Slow Food Cooking Classes” is a project coordinated by ARNO in collaboration with the Organization for Food Prevention, Promotion and Education “Slow Food Vodno” and in partnership with the vocational high school “Lazar Tanev “. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the sustainability of civil organizations by raising the public awareness and the awareness of the private sector for social entrepreneurship, as well as, to contribute to different approaches for improving the local economy. This project supports an innovative concept of social entrepreneurship and promotes quality vocational education, local slow food and local slow food producers.
The profit from the sales of the vouchers (cooking classes) was reinvested in the students of “Lazar Tanev” through a tailored program for developing their soft skills, which makes their transit to the labor market easier. The menu offered a new series of “Cooking Classes” full of traditional homemade flavors: “Cheese on the Table” (chef Mare Janevska), ”The Seasonal Wheel”, ”The Secrets from Granny’s Cook Book” (chef Mare Janevska), ”Protein Plants”, and ”Fish from our Waters” (chef Dejan Karapeev).
This project was financed under the Grant-Giving Program of the “Changes for Sustainability” project, funded by the European Union, implemented by Konekt in partnership with the Apolonia Foundation and the Tax Policy Center.
This initiative was implemented under the “Coolinary Program”
Highlights: Upon request from the American Council for International Education, a team building, private cooking class was organized for 12 international students. These students discovered how to make traditional pastrmajlija and modern pizza under the guidance of our junior chef Antonio Gjorgjievski.
