Parkours for the Future: Testing an Innovative Methodology

On April 7, 2025, at SUGS “Rade Jovchevski – Korchagin” in Skopje, ARNO carried out the first pilot testing of the innovative methodology developed within the “Parkours for the Future” (PAFF) project. More than 40 students participated in digital and physical “stations” aimed at raising awareness about green and digital professions, sustainability, and gender equality.

Students created burgers with the lowest ecological footprint, developed strategies to convince upper management to make green decisions, learned about the dark side of smartphones, and explored the achievements of Frida Kahlo, Malala Yousafzai, and many others.

The “Parkours for the Future” methodology includes thematic “stations” that encourage young people to think critically and creatively about the challenges of the future. Through gamification, students were introduced to concepts such as:

  • Green transition and sustainable development
  • Digital professions and skills
  • Gender equality in career choices

The methodology is inspired by the urban movement of parkour and aims to engage youth in interactive learning, encouraging awareness and active participation in building a better future.

The event marks an important step in the project’s implementation, which will continue with further testings and new resources for teachers.

The “Parkours for the Future” project is funded by Erasmus+ and led by Life e.V. (Germany), in partnership with Agenzia Regionale per il Lavoro, la Formazione e l’Accreditamento (Italy), ARNO (North Macedonia), GINNlab Goethe-Institut Innovation Lab (Italy), Goethe-Institut (Germany), and Scoala de Valori (Romania).
