Seminar in Parma: employability, entrepreneurship, youth
In the period February 13-18 in Parma, Italy, in the organization of the Macedonian and Italian national agencies, the seminar “The influence of youth work on the employability and entrepreneurship of young people” was held. Simona Slavkova participated in this seminar on behalf of ARNO. The seminar was focused on youth work, entrepreneurship and employability. Participants had the opportunity to share good practices on the impact of youth work on youth employability and entrepreneurship, and they also contributed to the creation of a digital brochure that will be available at the Youth@Work Partnership website. Within this seminar, 3 study visits were conducted:
- Casa nel Parco – a youth center that is dedicated to building coexistence and respecting different identities. La Casa nel Parco promotes people’s self-organization by providing skills, spaces, ideas and resources. Simona’s impression of this center is a delightment of the fact that it is a municipal space that currently has a program for 3D design and printing, She says it would be an inspiration for a similar space and program in N. Macedonia.
- Officina Arti Audiovisive youth center of the municipality of Parma run by young students, aimed at the promotion of audiovisual culture. From the promotion of critical thinking, to the production of documentary films, from small group workshops to workshops with students and schools, this center spreads awareness and literacy in the languages of cinema, documentaries, photography and online distribution of audiovisual products between Netflix, YouTube, cinemas and smartphone screens. Within the framework of the visit, Simona and the other participants had the opportunity to act as videographers, producers, cameramen and create their own multimedia content.
- Il Centro Giovani Montanara is a youth center supported by the Municipality of Parma, and is intended for adolescents, young people and adults. It houses the headquarters of Radioofficina webradio, the Revep studio, the audio and music recording studio, the Emiliano Fontana rehearsal hall. It is an educational-aggregation and recreational space oriented to the protagonism and participation of young people in active citizenship courses. During the study visit the participants learned to dance urban African dances and listened to original stories from migrants who visit the center.
“It was wonderful to participate at this seminar – we shared and listened to many interesting practices, honest and successful stories from the seminar participants, facilitators and guest speakers. It is also great that these practices will be presented in e digital brochure that will be available to everyone so everyone will have the opportunity to be inspired by these wonderful stories of youth workers. I encourage the young people of Macedonia to apply and participate in such calls from the National Agencies,” said Simona Slavkova, project assistant at ARNO.
